Your income and tax figures never leave your browser

Every calculation on this site (your taxable income, residency status, the resulting tax, Medicare Levy and take-home pay figures) is computed entirely by JavaScript running in your own web browser. Nothing you type into the calculators is ever sent to, processed by, or stored on any server. There is no backend, no database, and no API that receives your income figures. If you were to disconnect your device from the internet after the page has loaded, the calculators would keep working exactly the same, because they never needed a network connection to calculate your result in the first place.

What is stored, and where

The only place any calculator input is stored is your own browser's local storage; a standard browser feature that keeps small pieces of data on your device, similar to how a form might remember what you typed last time. This is used purely so that if you close the tab and come back later, your last entered income figure and residency choice are still there. This data:

• Stays entirely on your own device; it is never transmitted anywhere.
• Is not accessible to us, to any third party, or to any other website.
• Can be cleared at any time using the calculator's own "Reset" button, or by clearing your browser's site data/local storage through your browser settings.
• Is not linked to any identity, account or profile; there are no user accounts on this site at all.

Analytics

This site does not currently run Cloudflare Web Analytics, or any other analytics, visitor-counting, or engagement-measurement service, and does not record how many people visit this page, which pages are viewed, how long anyone stays, or where visits come from.

The only technical information involved is the standard request-level data (source IP address, browser type, request time) that Cloudflare's network processes automatically to deliver the page to your browser, the same way any hosting provider does. That falls under Cloudflare's own privacy policy as the network operator, and is not accessed, exported, or combined by this site to identify visitors individually.

This site does not use third-party advertising trackers, does not sell any data, and does not build advertising profiles of visitors.

Cookies

This site does not use tracking cookies. Any storage used (see "What is stored, and where" above) is browser local storage, not a cookie, and is used solely to remember your last calculator input for your own convenience.

Feedback

If you choose to send feedback through the feedback link on this site, only the message you write is submitted; your calculator inputs (income figures, residency status) are never included automatically, and no email address, IP address or other identifying information is collected as part of that feedback unless you choose to include it yourself in your message.

Accuracy and limitations

This calculator is provided for general estimation purposes, based on the Australian Taxation Office's published resident and foreign resident income tax brackets and Medicare Levy thresholds for the 2025-26 income year (see the source links shown directly beneath each calculator's result). It does not constitute tax advice, and does not account for every individual circumstance; deductions, offsets, the Medicare Levy Surcharge, HECS-HELP repayments and superannuation are deliberately not modelled (see the income tax calculator's "What this calculator doesn't include" section for the full list). For a personalised assessment, use the ATO's own tools or consult a registered tax agent.

Third-party services this site relies on

This site is hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure, which, like any web host, processes standard, aggregate technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) as part of normal web hosting and security operations, for example blocking malicious traffic. This is standard for every website on the internet and is separate from, and unrelated to, the calculator input handling described above: your taxable income and calculator choices are never part of any request sent to a server, because the calculation itself never leaves your browser. No third-party advertising network, tracking pixel, or data broker is embedded on this site.

Children's privacy

This site does not knowingly collect any personal information from children, and does not collect personal information from any visitor at all in the ordinary course of using the calculators; as explained throughout this page, calculator inputs never leave your browser regardless of who is using the tool.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy is ever updated (for example, if a new feature changes how data is handled), the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be changed to reflect that. Since the core design principle of this site (calculations run entirely client-side, no server-side processing of your figures) is unlikely to change, we don't expect substantive updates to this policy, but you're welcome to check back periodically.
